Throughout his career running a commercial printing business, Hugh has created paintings and prints with a focus on recording the people and places of Galway City. 

He returned to art college in 2015 to study for a BA in Contemporary Art with special emphasis in the Painting, Printing and Photography. He has recently completed an MA in Creative Practice at NUIG and is developing a series of videos on social issues.
